Nashville native Tyler Peek is coming home to host his Santa Barbara based Indonesian restaurant, SAMA SAMA at POP for one night only February 7th!
Originally from Franklin TN, Peek attended Le Cordon Bleu in Los Angeles where he met his future business partner, Ryan Simorangkir and got his first real taste of the fast moving work of restaurants.
After school, Peek and Simorangkir moved to Puerto Rico to work for Alain Ducasse. After that it was off to Bali where the duo worked their way up to Head Chefs all the while falling in love with Indonesian Cuisine.
Soon, the California coast was calling their name, and after landing in Santa Barbara SAMA SAMA was born.
"The cuisine at Sama Sama is Indonesian inspired, based on our culinary experiences in South East Asia," Simorangkir says.
They began to piece together the bits & pieces of some of the most authentic meals they learned while living in Indonesia, and a menu began to form that would become the identity of SAMA SAMA.
